Sailshare
in conjunction with our
partners, Barefoot Yacht
Charters operate the only ASA
Sailing School in St Vincent
and The Grenadines. The ASA
offers a certification that
is recognised worldwide. No
experience is necessary - the
courses are great either for
novices who have never set
foot aboard a yacht before,
or for more experienced
sailors looking for a formal
qualification. Families and
singles are welcome. |

The
courses operate every week of
the year and run from Sunday
morning through the following
Saturday morning. Guests
should plan on flying into St
Vincent on Saturday and
flying out the following
Saturday. For the first night
we recommend Beachcomber's
Hotel ($ 80-100 per night for
a double). We will then
arrange for a taxi to bring
guests to our marina the
following morning after
breakfast.
After
meeting the Instructor and an
orientation and safety
briefing, the yacht will sail
for the Grenadines. A typical
itinerary will be to Bequia,
Mustique, Mayreau, The Tobago
Cays, Palm Island, Canouan
and then back to St. Vincent
- around 80 miles round-trip
with relatively short (1 to 4
hours) sailing times between
the islands.

Charter one of
our Bareboats; hire your own private ASA Instructor and
get up to four sailors certified.* All four do not have
to be at the same level.
For example, you
charter the Beneteau 430 for $600 per day or $3500 per
week and add an ASA Instructor for $1750 ($250 per day
plus meals plus tips). That's a total of only $5250 plus
provisioning costs for 4 to get ASA certified. That is
only $1312.50 per person for a week onboard a beautiful
yacht. No need for a Hotel room!
Save even more by
going sometime July through November.
* More than 4
sailors may be on board your charter, but the maximum
that an ASA Instructor can handle is four students.
During a
typical ASA Instructional week, there is time for
swimming, snorkeling, SCUBA diving, going ashore,
exploring the islands and beaches.
